SYDNEY WEDDINGS

You’re hearing it from the horse’s mouth - a wedding celebrant (aka me) who performs oodles of Sydney ceremonies. It’s a place of plenty. A pretty city where outdoor lifestyle is her middle name. Seriously where do I begin…Sydney has so much to offer in the wedding department. An abundance of beaches and waterways, pristine nature, blessed weather, top notch food, wine and beer, vibrant multi-cultures, every festival under the sun and the arts, just to name some.

When you consider big world cities, Sydney is up there as a true beauty. It has a perfect balance of natural and built. For starters, the magnificent harbour is a show-stopper, countless viewpoints, nature spots, beaches, lush gardens, amazing dining and wining.  Winning ingredients for a wedding.

Where else in the world can you go from skyscrapers to secluded beaches, rainforests and waterfalls within half an hour. Sure, some say the heavy traffic can be a downer. Don’t stress just factor in a little extra travel time, it’s totally worth the journey!

Sydney has a temperate climate so there’s no such thing as extreme. Wedding season runs all year round. Regardless, having a Plan B option is always a wise move. Weather can turn on the rare occasion. Autumn and Spring continue as Sydney’s most popular wedding seasons. I’m seeing a decline over the Summer months due to humidity, the heat and storms. The trend-setter is in fact Winter weddings in Sydney. Winter is fairly mild, short dry yet sunny days, it offers more predictability. It seems couples are opting for the cool air rather than sweating it out.

I’m partial to the Eastern Suburbs, it’s where I lived for a big part of my life though over time, I’ve come to appreciate every part of Sydney and its gems. It’s a hard choice narrowing it down to a favourite location. There is never just one, instead here’s a list of my ultimate favs that spring to mind…
