Ally + Nik’s Story:

At the slightest hint of an adventure wedding, even better an elopement, I am SO in for the ride!

When Ally + Nik got in touch & talked through their vision…OMG, I basically squealed with excitement. I knew it would be BLOODY amazing. It was & much more! With their families overseas and interstate, they opted to elope to the South Coast….in the year that will never be forgotten.

Ally searched far & wide for a country property with character, beautiful design and insane views. She stumbled across The Eco Hut Kangaroo Valley. What a find! The wonderful owners gave them absolute freedom to explore the property to find their spot to elope. There we were… just the five of us, one lone tree, an echidna & some cows in a paddock with the valley as our backdrop! To top it, the weather gods blessed them with the most gorgeous day in November.

Ally + Nik’s story is such a lovely one. Their chance meet took place in Nik’s home city of Toronto. Ally was on her working holiday visa. The connection was instant. As they said goodbye after their first date, they knew it was the start of something special. Something so natural, they found comfort and peace with each other. Three weeks later they were both committed and have never looked back.

Besides their deep connection, they soon began to discover many shared interests. Both lovers of the outdoors and connecting with nature in the form of camping, hiking and travelling around the world taking some beautiful spiritual journeys together. Even just a simple walk down to the park or around the block with a café stop is cherished.

It’s no surprise, they’ve racked up some pretty big achievements together. Firstly, after three months of knowing each other they embarked upon a six month backpacking trip, full of highs and lows. The term “in sickness and in health” being so pertinent. They saw each other at their best and worst and grew closer from it. When the trip was over, they moved to Australia, which brought a huge settling in period and its challenges.

Really, their most notable achievement since, has been maintaining an international relationship – with Nik’s family in another country and Ally’s family in another state. Both have their moments of weakness missing family and missing home. It’s particularly hard for Nik being so far away from those dear to him. Though what keeps them strong is knowing they are in this together. They stay positive and live in the moment.

Ally + Nik, I’m SO chuffed that we got to share your BIG moment! Your elopement was SO frickin’ cool & SO you! Endless thanks again for inviting me to be your celebrant :)

Love Jacq xx

“Jacq was so lovely to deal with! She responded to emails promptly and communicated all information clearly - down to the very last detail.

She was happy to even dress according to the vibe of our boho elopement.
