Martina + Enrique’s Story:

Its hard to beat a good friend’s wedding, especially when you’re the one officiating it!

We were SO excited for our gorgeous friends Martina and Enrique when they announced their engagement. I remember being at their home for lunch in early January 2020. It was a long time coming & a no-brainer! From the moment they met, there was great synergy. It was clear they were destined for great things together.

They told us about their incredible wedding plans. They were set to elope in Palm Springs, USA in June 2020. In the similar vein to mine and my husband’s elopement outside of Las Vegas in the Nevada Desert. They took inspiration from it :) Though their plans sounded next level. There would be a dreamy villa, a desert celebration, the recover pool party, a legendary road trip followed by a honeymoon in Mexico. It was going to be seriously epic!

Everything was set and booked. Then in late March 2020, the future was looking a tad bleak. COVID restrictions reared its ugly head. Reality kicked in a month or so later, when all international flights were grounded. No-one was going anywhere. This really hit home, especially for couples like Martina and Enrique (along with so many others). Their kick-arse wedding plans were shattered.

Like many couples, Martina and Enrique started to reevaluate their wedding plans. Palm Springs was not on the cards for the foreseeable future but they really wanted to get married! They took control and powered ahead with a new plan - a cruisy relaxed wedding in Sydney with their nearest & dearest. I was so sad that they couldn’t live their epic Palm Springs elopement. At the same time, I was elated. I’d be part of their wedding, not only as a guest but as their celebrant! Yippeee!

They wanted to be on waters edge in the Northern Beaches, so Pasadena Church Point was the chosen spot. I had the absolute pleasure of working with the very talented photographer and wonderful human, Robert Meredith. And like I mention, there’s something so special about marrying your friends. In my work, I consider all of my couples friends. I get to know everyone quite personally as we plan their wedding ceremony. But being up the front with my dear friends as they pledge their vows, well that is truly a blessing!

What a day, surrounded by wonderful friends & family. Everyone felt the extra spark in the air, after dealing with the craziness of 2020!

Massive gratitude & big thanks to my gorgeous friends, Martina & Enrique :)

Let’s do Palm Springs sometime in the future…for your renewal of vows! xoxo

Testimonial:

“We're so grateful that Jacqua was our celebrant!

She has a unique style of writing the ceremony in an entertaining, meaningfully personal and cheeky style, which was perfect for us.

Our guests were all very complimenting.

Jacqua always kept calm throughout the process and on the day which really helped.

She is a true professional with a warming nature and fashionable touch on top of it!”
